Bringing Clean Water to the Most Remote Communities

Developed by our partner WHOlives, the Village Drill Hybrid is an innovative, portable water well drilling system. Unlike massive conventional drilling rigs that cannot travel over rough terrain or narrow village paths, the Village Drill Hybrid can be transported in a small truck and hand-carried directly into remote communities.

By reaching 75% more communities at 75% lower cost, the Village Drill Hybrid enables local driller teams to operate self-sustaining small businesses—drilling reliable deep-water wells for schools, clinics, and villages across Africa.

2023 - 2024 Liberia / Sierra Leone

Village Drill in Liberia & Sierra Leone

CT Trust funded an $80,000 NZD motorized Village Drill Hybrid to equip local drill teams in Liberia and Sierra Leone. Arriving in mid-2025, the team completed intensive 3-week field training and has already successfully drilled wells at schools and rural communities.

CT Trust is funding a second Village Drill Hybrid for an experienced, Kenyan-led team with 13+ years of drilling expertise. Led by WHOlives master trainer Davison Chengoni and George Masika, this investment doubles their capacity to drill community-funded wells along the Mombasa coast.
