What is Transformational Community Development (TCD)?
Transformational Community Development (TCD) is a process created by Global Hope Network International (GHNI) for helping villages transform themselves and break the cycle of extreme poverty.
TCD staff help villages form sustainable development committees in five main areas (water, food, wellness, education, and income). TCD staff partners with local villagers to identify and implement solutions for their community, providing a foundation to achieve village-sustainability, and requiring the community to take ownership in transforming their village. For a community to be self-sustainable, they must buy into the program and be involved in the process of TCD from beginning to end. The community not only has to want change, but also be ready to co-invest their own resources (time, talent & treasure) and assume responsibility for the development of their own community.
TCD Projects we are Supporting:
We are currently funding several TCD projects run in villages in Indonesia, Tajikistan, Egypt, & Vietnam.
We are also funding a new ongoing ‘TCD Worker Seed Fund’ (established in 2023), which will financially support a GHNI worker so that they can form relationships with and investigate new villages in key regions, to determine if they are suitable for new TCD projects.
Join Us – Help fund more TCD Projects in new villages
We’d love for you to join us in supporting new TCD Projects in other villages! The best way to support these TCD projects from NZ is to make a one-off or regular donation to our charity Community Transformation Trust for use towards TCD Projects (all donations to Community Transformation Trust are tax deductible in NZ).
