October 2024 – Visit to Vietnam

Vietnam has high rates of human trafficking and domestic violence. Women are trafficked as brides to China and other neighbouring countries and lured by false job or marriage offers and then forced into exploitative situations. Since 2008, Hagar has worked in Vietnam, helping survivors heal and rebuild their lives. Hagar works with local organisations to raise awareness and educate regarding domestic violence.

CT Trust (in partnership with Better World Initiative and Barcodes Ltd) supports Hagar in their work fighting human trafficking and domestic violence.

In October 2024 David and Margaret visited Vietnam to see Hagar's projects there:

  • They visited the Hagar office in Hanoi to learn about their Trauma Informed Care model
  • They also saw a cultural concert in Yen Bai (North Vietnam), held by the community to demonstrate the course they had completed and spread awareness of domestic violence.
  • They visited families with an animal bank project
