Projects

CT Trust is looking at identifying effective poverty relief-focused methods, initiatives and charities in New Zealand and worldwide.

Community Development Projects:

Transformational Community Development (TCD) is a couching-based process created by Global Hope Network International (GHNI) for helping villages transform themselves and break the cycle of extreme poverty.

CT Trust is currently supporting the following projects run by GHNI:

Cairo, Egypt (Ezbet El Haggana) - TCD project - ongoing. David and Margaret visited this project in April 2025. This overcrowded informal settlement is home to Egyptian migrants and Sudanese refugees, with minimal infrastructure - limited access to power, clean water, and sanitation - and high levels of illness and unemployment. Through the TCD project, community groups like a women’s committee have been formed, a school is educating Sudanese refugee children, and residents are receiving water filters and micro-enterprise loans.

Water Filters and Micro-Enterprise Loans (Egypt) - ongoing - CT Trust is committed to helping GHNI's work in Egypt by helping to fund water filters and micro-enterprise loans. Donations to these projects can be made on our Donations Page (all donations are tax-deductible in New Zealand).

TCD Worker (Seed) Funding (ongoing) - CT Trust is providing ongoing funding to GHNI so that they can employ a worker to assess poor communities for their potential to join their TCD community development programme. Once a community is approved for a new TCD project, the funding helps send another worker to start the process in a new area.

Other Projects

The Village Drill - In 2025, CT Trust purchased a "Village Drill Hybrid" for use in Sierra Leone and Liberia. This portable drill, which can be easily transported by truck, is designed to drill multiple wells in remote communities. It was delivered to Sierra Leone in March 2025, with training on its use to follow, before drilling begins in communities that need clean water.

CT Trust also regularly supports other important projects and charities, including:
