TCD Training Project in Kasese, Uganda (2025-2030)
CT Trust is funding a Transformational Community Development (TCD) Training Project, in partnership with GHNI and Mughende Women Farmers Association (MUWOFA), to empower more than 18 rural villages in the Kasese District of Western Uganda over the next five years (2026–2031). The project combines practical training with seed funding to support sustainable community transformation.
Stage One: TCD Training (2025 - 2026)
Participants: More than 185 community members, primarily women, supported through local partner organizations:
Mughende Women Farmers Association (MUWOFA) arranged for 115 women farmers from 18 villages to participated in a 5-day TCD training course in December 2025. They will receive an additional 5-day training in mid-2026.
KIYOSIMA (Kasese Young Single Mothers Association) will also send 70 women to participate in a 5-day TCD training course in mid-2026.
CT Trust is funding the venue hire, accommodation, catering, and training resources for these course.
TCD training, delivered through GHNI’s proven framework, equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and practical tools to support long-term, sustainable change in their communities.
At the end of the 5-day course each participant village will receive 1 goat (funded by CT Trust).
Stage Two: Seed Funding for Village Development Initiatives (2026 - 2030)
Following training, the training participants (and their villages) will receive seed funding to help them implement TCD practices in their communities. Initial funding will focus on:
Providing goats (1 per participant): each training participant will receive 1 goat on completion of the training course, to support income generation and food security.
Building a model latrine in each village: Model toilets will be constructed in each village to demonstrate practical design and inspire villagers to replicate them.
Providing sewing machines for each village.
This phased approach aims to enable long-term, locally led transformation, strengthening food security, health, women’s livelihoods, and overall community empowerment across the participating villages
